خوشنودی فراوان از میزبانی جو دیوگاردي و شيرلي كلويس دیوگاردي در دفتر نخست‌وزیر و تشكر از آنها به‌خاطر تقریباً چهار دههٔ فعالیت استثنایی، از كنگره ایالات متحده تا لیگ مدنی آلبانی-آمریکایی. جو و شيرلي اکنون، علاوه بر شهروندی ایالات متحدهٔ آمریکا، شهروندان جمهوری كوسووا نیز هستند؛ که نشانگر تعهد دهه‌هاست آن‌ها به مردم آلبانی و هدف ملی ما. به‌عنوان نخستین نمایندهٔ کنگره ایالات متحده با ریشهٔ آلبانی، جو دیوگاردي، به‌همراه شخصیت‌های تأثیرگذاری چون تام لانتوس، باب دول و الیوت انگل، از نخستین و قدرتمندترین صداها برای كوسووا و علیه ستمی که مردم ما تحمل می‌کردند، بود. او سفیر کشور ما بود پیش از این که سفارت جمهوری كوسووا با افتخار در واشنگتن دی.سی. مستقر شود. ما برای خدمت‌هایشان، هم به‌عنوان یک کشور و هم به‌عنوان یک مردم، تا ابد سپاسگزار خواهیم بود.

It was a pleasure to welcome Joe DioGuardi and Shirley Cloyes DioGuardi at the Office of the Prime Minister and to thank them for nearly four decades of extraordinary advocacy, from the U.S. Congress to the Albanian American Civic League. Joe and Shirley are now, in addition to being citizens of the United States of America, also citizens of the Republic of Kosova, which is a reflection of their decades-long commitment to the Albanian people and our national cause. As the first U.S. Congressman of Albanian origin, Joe DioGuardi, alongside influential figures such as Tom Lantos, Bob Dole, and Eliot Engel, was among the earliest and strongest voices for Kosova and against the oppression our people endured. He was an ambassador for our country long before the Embassy of the Republic of Kosova proudly stood in Washington, D.C. We will forever be grateful for their service, as a country and as a people.
