امروز در صوفیا، در نشست سران کشورها و دولت‌های فرآیند همکاری جنوب شرق اروپا شرکت کردم. در برهه‌ای که تحولات ژئوپلیتیکی عمیق و چالش‌های فزاینده امنیتی، اقتصادی و اجتماعی را شاهد هستیم، اعتماد، گفت‌وگو و انسجام برای صلح، ثبات و توسعه پایدار ضروری است. بر ضرورت احیای روح همکاری منطقه‌ای و بازگشت به اصولی تأکید کردم که فرآیند همکاری جنوب شرق اروپا (#SEECP) سه دهه پیش بر آن بنا نهاده شد. همان‌گونه که نویسنده بلغارستانی، گئورگی گوسپودینوف، به‌درستی اشاره کرده است: «وقتی درهای آینده بسته می‌شود، گذشته تنها وطن می‌شود.» بالکان به «بالکان‌زدایی» از طریق «اروپایی‌شدن» نیاز دارد. موفقیت هر کشور باید موفقیتی برای کل منطقه تلقی شود؛ رقابتی که بر پایه دانش، نوآوری، فرهنگ و پیشرفت اقتصادی باشد، نه بر پایه محاصره و تفرقه.

Today in Sofia, I participated in the Summit of Heads of State and Government of the South-East European Cooperation Process. At a time of profound geopolitical shifts and growing security, economic and social challenges, trust, dialogue and cohesion are essential for lasting peace, stability and development. I stressed the need to revive the spirit of regional cooperation and return to the principles upon which the #SEECP was founded three decades ago. As Bulgarian author Georgi Gospodinov aptly observed: “When the doors to the future close, the past becomes the only homeland.” The Balkans need de-Balkanization through Europeanization. The success of each country should be seen as a success for the entire region, with competition driven by knowledge, innovation, culture, and economic progress—not by blockades and divisions.
